MRLL is run entirely by volunteers. We can't make it work without our executive board and these amazing individuals:
Equipment: Travis Witzke
Fields/Scheduling: Jason Easterly
Uniforms: Kelley Hayes
Sponsorships: Brandon Hewlett
Instagram/Apparel: Lourdes Peralta
Safety Plan: Sean Johnson
Parents are strongly encouraged to become involved in our Little League. Start by signing up as a coach or general volunteer above. Here are some of the specific volunteer roles we are looking to fill for our Spring 2023 season.
This individual is responsible for keeping MRLL families up to date on league happenings via our Instagram account. He/she is also in charge of distributing flyers, hanging banners, and preparing other materials to promote registration for the spring season. Finally, this volunteer will manage our MRLL apparel sales with pop-ups at special events throughout the spring season and leading up to the All-Stars tournament.
Junior Umpire Program Facilitator
Junior umpires are former MRLL players that are 13-17 years old. They typically serve as field umpires with an adult umpire behind the plate. This volunteer is responsible for recruiting, training, and scheduling our junior umpires.
Food Truck/Snack Bar Coordinator
This individual is responsible for scheduling food trucks for game days and special events at Chaparral Park. He/she is also in charge of manning our newly reopened Cocopah Middle School snack bar--we welcome ideas for how our league might use this fresh, clean space. This volunteer is responsible for stocking, cleaning, and running the snack bar. He/she will manage any snack bar revenue and present it to our treasurer for deposit.
Cocopah Rehabilitation Supervisor
After MRLL merged with North Scottsdale Little League, Cocopah Middle School was used only for a handful of practices and games. We have recently begun scheduling more practices and games at Cocopah. We also opened and cleaned the snack bar after it was shuttered for three years. We are looking to make a number of improvements to the fields and facilities at Cocopah--with the contributions of sponsors and donors--and need someone to lead this important project. Willingness to collaborate with donors, vendors, and specialists required, connections a bonus. :)
NOTE: They say it takes a village, right? If you're interested in one of these roles, sign up with a friend or two (or ask us to find you a partner). We understand your time is precious--the more the merrier!
Please reach out to one of our volunteers or email [email protected] to learn more or express your interest in one of these valuable positions.
