Wow–what a spring and summer we’ve had! Although the official spring season has concluded, our kiddos are still playing their hearts out in this year’s All-Star tournament. We have so much to celebrate here in MRLL.
First, let’s take some time to recognize our youngest players. In our Tee Ball division, we had twelve fantastic teams this season. It was neat to see many of our Tee Ballers get their first taste of coach pitch as they make the transition into Farm. Speaking of transitions, in our Farm division, players had their first exposure to kid pitch in the latter half of the season. These kids really stepped up to the plate–pun intended–and parents encouraged them from the stands. In MRLL’s first season with this implementation, the successes were aplenty.
Near the end of the season, both our Minors and Majors divisions participated in pool play tournaments. Coming out victorious in the Minors MRLL tournament was Coach Benson’s team. And in our Majors division, Coach Huseth’s team took the top spot after an exciting District 6 interleague tournament.
These triumphs wouldn't be possible without Bulls that are are well-rounded, dedicated teammates and friends. Most importantly, they know how to have fun! We wrapped the spring season with a league-wide D-Bat Day, where players of all ages enjoyed batting with their friends and chowing down on donut holes. In addition, after weeks of games on hot, dusty fields, our kiddos celebrated with pool parties and lots of air-conditioned fun.
Finally, MRLL entered three teams–10U, 11U, and 12U–into the D6 All-Star tournament. Our 10U team made it to the championship and our 11U team had two matchups. Both teams lost to Arcadia Little League, but brought plenty of positive energy and enthusiasm to the 12U tournament. After defeating ARLL, the Bulls are on to their way to the state tournament. This is a thrilling time for the league. Next up, Fall Ball!
