The start of our spring season is just around the corner and I couldn’t be more excited! There is so much happening out on the field and behind the scenes this time of year. Here’s what we have been up to…
As you know, I was voted in as MRLL President in November. I hit the ground running the same night! While I’ve been in the stands for years, I’ve had a lot to learn about how our league operates and what it takes to make each new season possible. I’m thankful to have a full board and wonderful volunteers.
The first major event we hosted was a pre-evaluation clinic for Minors/Majors players. Check out that crowd! The players had a blast and coaches and families mixed and mingled. We also had a food truck with some spectacular tacos. Maybe you saw me making the rounds with my pup, Sophie. :)
Next up, we hosted the first day of Minors/Majors evaluations. Our players came ready! They really shined during the drills while families cheered them on, purchased apparel, and chowed down on a burger. I was your emcee and really enjoyed talking with your kiddos while they were in line. The wind was something else, but the sun came through!
Here is a brief outline of what you can expect next:
- The Minors/Majors drafts will conclude on the evening of February 5. Families will be notified with team rosters and practice schedules.
- Minors/Majors practices will begin on or around February 10.
Tee/Farm rosters will be created on or around February 10, followed by the practice schedule.
Tee/Farm practices will begin on or around February 21.
Games for all divisions will begin on or around March 22.
We also have a full docket of special events planned, starting with Opening Day on March 26. Interested in getting involved? We can always use more volunteers. Please sign up here and I will reach out to you personally. Go Bulls!
