McCormick Ranch 12U All Stars Defeat Mountain View Little League

McCormick Ranch 12U All Stars defeated Mountain View 10-0 on Monday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. After demonstrating tremendous pitching and defense in their first game (an opening 1-0 win over McDowell Mountain), the Bulls showed they have offensive firepower as well.

Much like the night before, the local nine refused to give up a run to their opponents.  Dae-il Willis led things off on the pitcher's mound for McCormick Ranch. He lasted three innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out five and walking one.  Jake Catalfio came in for the last inning of the game which was shortened due to MRLL’s 10 run lead.  Jake made quick work of the visiting Roadrunners, striking out three batters in his lone inning of work.

The Bulls matched their stellar defensive execution with timely hitting.  McCormick Ranch got things started in the first inning when Dae-il Willis singled and eventually scored on a wild pitch.  Noah Becker and Jake Catalfio both drew walks and later scored.  Nate Smith singled and scored on a hit by Ethan White.  That was all the offense the Bulls needed, but they weren’t done for the evening.  The Bulls went on to plate three more runs in the third and three in the fourth, thus ending the game early.

McCormick Ranch tallied 12 hits in the game. Willis, Jack Lafflam, Trevor Green and Truman Parker each collected two hits to lead the 12U All Stars.  McCormick Ranch now faces Arcadia on Tuesday and East Scottsdale on Wednesday in pool play. Both games begin at 7:30pm at Scottsdale Ranch Park.
