Exciting Updates for Spring 2025

I can’t wait for our spring season to commence! On behalf of the MRLL board, I have a few exciting updates to share with you.

First, we have voted to offer discounted registration to select volunteers. As a reminder, all volunteer positions in MRLL are unpaid, including President and executive board. The least we can do for those running the league, who attend meetings, take phone calls at odd hours, and spend their free time working on field improvements and special events, is offer this small token of appreciation. The discount will include all executive board members and any active volunteers that attend at least six out of the nine board meetings we hold from August-May. Google Meet links to upcoming board meetings will be posted on the Important Dates page.

If you are interested in learning more about becoming an executive board member and/or attending our meetings, don’t hesitate to reach out to me (Jackie) at [email protected]. We would LOVE for you to get involved, and it never hurts to plan ahead for the next group of board members. We are accepting inquiries for ALL positions to make the transition as seamless as possible when the time comes.

Next, to offer our Farm Coach Rescue kiddos more competitors throughout the spring, we are interleaguing with East Scottsdale Little League, who will also be part of our end-of-season tournament to crown a CR champ. It has been so fun to watch this division grow, and our Minors coaches have appreciated how much better prepared their players are to pitch in the next division.

To commemorate Opening Day, we will have a photographer capturing the parade and special ceremonies. These photos will be made available to you in a gallery for purchase. A huge thank you to baseball dad, Casey Campbell! We will also have individual and team photos as usual.

We are excited to announce the construction of a water station at Cocopah Middle School. We are sectioning off a portion of the snack bar to include a small sink + hand dryer and a drinking fountain + water bottle filler. When not in use, these will be enclosed by what is now the main entrance to the snack bar. Coaches will have a code to unlock and lock the door before and after practices and games so the station is accessible every time your kiddo plays at Cocopah. We will let you know when this project is finished!

We also have fresh signage going in at the snack bar. A new sign on the top of the building will feature the MRLL logo and some lettering out front will name the snack bar, The Bull’s Eye. A HUGE thanks to those volunteers that have been coordinating and overseeing these projects. We look forward to showing off the new look when it’s ready.

Finally, we are hosting a new-and-improved clinic for our coaches this spring. Coaches, save the date for February 16. We have reserved a modern and spacious facility and will offer yummy refreshments. We will also have a raffle for coaches to win incredible baseball prizes. Most importantly, coaches will have the opportunity to ask questions, glean ideas, and meet new people. We appreciate everything they do for us!

Go Bulls!
